Maverick Cycles has always believed in the future of Mountain Biking in South Africa, and in the fact that SA has the potential to bread champions. As kind of a change of focus in our market, we also believe Mountain Biking should be FUN. With the help of Kona Bikes we have been able to help eight Cross Country and two Down Hill riders, on there way to achieving their dreams, of having fun and winning races on their bikes. The program we run is aimed at finding youngsters who show potential, getting them on great bikes, and supporting them on their way to becoming professional athletes. And it works. I rider sono stati scelti per le capacità tecniche, personalità e stile di vita in rappresentanza del mondo della mountain bike Gravity / Freeride.

Pendragon Kalas Team – UK
Pendragon Kalas is a new Elite road team for 2009, the aim of the team is to help younger riders 18-23 year olds make the transition from the junior/espiors category to senior level with as much ease as possible. Le Belgian Gravity Team est né de l’esprit de Bertrand Gilles, actuel champion de Belgique de DH, qui souhaitait s’entourer au mieux afin de continuer sa progression sur la scène internationale. Pour 2009, le team est fier d’annoncer sa collaboration avec The Barracuda Company en tant que sponsor principal ainsi qu’avec Kona Bikes en tant que fournisseur matériel. Bertrand Gilles sera rejoint par le talentueux Kristof Lenssens pour représenter le team Barracuda/Kona sur les manches européennes de la coupe du Monde, sur la Nissan DH Cup (Belgique) ainsi que sur une sélection d’évènements en France et en Allemagne.

The Kona Factory Team is one of the most recognized teams within Australia. The team has been successfully competing around the country for the past 5 years with great success. The teams mission is to development up incoming riders and promote Kona bicycles. The Kona team consists of - Elite Men: Josh Button (Australian National Champion), Tim Harrington, Steve Gebert. Elite Women: Sarah Booth. Junior Men: Ben Barrett (State Champion). Junior Women: Holly Baarspul (3rd Junior Worlds 2009 Canberra and Australian Junior Mountain bike cyclist of the year). Per la stagione 2007 Kona [FreeAlien] e FreeAlien [Kona] collaboreranno per lo sviluppo del freeride. Nasce il Kona FreeAlien Team che sarà presente a manifestazioni ed eventi del marchio canadese oltre che nelle tradizionali attività di camp estivi e corsi di freeride / street. La collaborazione è attuata anche grazie al dealer Kona di Torino Maximiglio.
