WHAT IS KONA BASIC NEEDS

Mission - To help provide transport, shelter, food and water to those with difficulty in attaining them.

With all the humanitarian work Kona does through its AfricaBike program, combined with growing support from our customers, we felt the need to set up a separate humanitarian organization to help further Kona’s Good Works initiatives. Kona Basic Needs will raise more funds and increase project awareness so we can help more people live better lives.

Kona Basic Needs primary initiative is to donate Kona AfricaBikes to organizations and individuals who can directly benefit from the transportation virtues of the bicycle. Kona AfricaBikes will be going to a number of different projects over the coming years. The first under the Kona Basic Needs umbrella occurred in September 2008 with the donation of 120 bikes to a water management project run by WWF Tanzania. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.

But it’s not just bikes, the Kona Basic Needs program will be looking to partner and work with companies and organizations dedicated to implementing programs that provide shelter, food and water to those in need all over the world.
