FUTURE KONA AFRICABIKE DONATIONS

2010 will see three Kona AfricaBike donations, with the hope of raising extra funds to enable us to do more.

Thanks to the support we have had from donations and purchasers of the Kona AfricaBike we will be donating 540 Kona Africa Bikes to the Tingathe Baylor Community Outreach Program in Malawi, Foundation Rwanda and HopeFirst Foundation in Gambia.

Every Kona AfricaBike donation provides the opportunity for up to 15 participants to attend the build and handover of the bicycles.

This affords people the chance to get a first-hand look and feel for the impact of a Kona Basic Needs Project can have both on a community and on an individual. 

As a participant, you build the bicycles, train mechanics and really “get dirty” for two days as you help the Kona Basic Needs & BikeTown with the organization hand over the bicycles.

This is a vacation, but one that gives something back and really makes a difference.

120 bicycles to Tingathe Baylor Community Outreach Program in Malawi

120 bicycles to Foundation Rwanda 
Foundation Rwanda’s mission is to 1) provide funding for the secondary school education of children born from rape during the 1994 genocide, 2) link their mothers to existing psychological and medical services and 3) create awareness about the consequences of genocide and sexual violence through photography and new media.

Handover #3: September 
300 bicycles to Gambia with assistance via the HopeFirst Foundation
HopeFirst Foundation is dedicated to transforming the lives of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, and fostering a sense of community, personal reflection, and articistic discovery.

We need to continue donating bicycles but can only do this with your support, either through donating money yourself or helping us raise more funds via sponsorship or by buying a Kona AfricaBike from your local store.

Help us reach our goal of another 120 Kona AfricaBikes for donation this year, we can get there!
