Two-time Whistler Crankworx Slopestyle winner Paul Basagoitia enters his fourth year riding for Kona. Known for his smooth style and ability to nail super technical tricks under pressure (he was the first to land a 720 on a mountain bike), “Bass” looks forward to another stellar year riding his custom signature Kona.
What first got you into riding:
The movie Rad, I wanted to be just like Cru Jones. lol
How long have you been riding (all together, 20", and 26"):
I've been riding since I was like 8 years old.
What got you into riding big bikes:

Favorite kind of riding:
All around riding, I like it all.
What are your favorite trails to ride:
My favorite trails are probably Cowan's back yard, he takes really good care of them.
What kind of car do you drive:

I fish like 4 times a week.
Do you have any other hobbies besides riding bikes:
Wake boarding, riding 110s and golf.
What kind of music do you like:
Rap, but I like to listen to all types of music.
Who are some of your favorite groups:
Swollen Members and Motley Crue, they both rock pretty hard.
What kind of movies do you like:
I'm more of an action type of guy. So any movie with a lot of action, I'm down with it.
What is your biggest accomplishment from riding bikes:
Going Pro
Any pet peeves or things that make you want to punch something:
When I'm learning a new trick and I cant do it, I get really pissed off

What time is it?
Last thing you think of when you go to bed:
I'm not really sure.
Describe a typical day when your not on the road and hangin at home:
I wake up around 9:00, check email, eat, go to the gym, take a shower, pick my little sister up from preschool, hang with my sister, go to the skate park with my little nephew, eat dinner, go out, in bed by 11:00 .
Do you have any brothers or sisters:
3 sisters, I'm the only boy in the family.
Do you have any pets:
I have 3 dogs their names are Bella, Lazy and Kona.
Do you play any musical instruments:
I just bought a guitar and the play keyboard a bit making beats. I made the beats on my web site with my friend Raskal.
Do you work out:
I try to go to the gym every day for two hours, but some times I get lazy and don't go.
Worst wreck and what happened:
When I tried a flip-whip. I over rotated and landed on my neck, pulling all the muscles in my neck. It sucked pretty bad. My crash at Crankworx was the scariest

What would you be doing if you were not a pro rider or when you retire:
I want to open a Mexican resturant and Karaoke bar in Minden.
If you won the lottery what are the first few things you'd buy or where would you go to spend it:
The first thing I would build a house on my 30 acres, get a Plane so I could travel to the comps on my own schedule, and buy a boat.

Im on a trip right now so my Kona team mates Cowan the Lacons and Scott and Griz from Decline Mag
